Leaderboards

The leaderboards’ data

Who handles it

Ente Carnevale dei Bambini Pro Loco di Orentano APS

To write: carnevaleorentano@gmail.com

Why

To show the games’ leaderboards, this week’s and of all time, and to stop anyone filling them with fake scores.

On what basis

The Ente’s interest in offering the games with their leaderboards and keeping them clean. Adding the letters is a choice: with «No, thanks» the score stays on the device only.

What data

The 3 letters chosen by the player (made-up ones too: better not to use your own initials), the game, the score, and the day and time it arrived. The leaderboards show only the letters and the score.

Against abuse, for 15 minutes, a code made from the network a score comes from, encrypted with a key of the site: the network address is never saved. The code is deleted within a day at the latest.

On the device, not on the site: personal bests, the moves learned, the last 3 letters used (to offer them for the next game), a few game settings, such as the way of playing chosen last and the sound, and which «Watch how» demos have already played (so they don’t start by themselves again).

Who receives it

The site and its database are run for the Ente by its providers, Vercel (the site’s server) and Neon (the database): the data is stored in Frankfurt, in the European Union, but Vercel and Neon are US companies.

For how long

Each score stays two weeks; after that, only while it is among the 20 best of its game. The Ente can hide it sooner, from the reserved area.

Your rights

You can ask the Ente to see, correct or delete a score, or to limit its use, by writing to the address above: say the game, the letters, the score and the day.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali): garanteprivacy.it.
